International Mother Language Day is held annually in order to bring to light the numerous culturally and linguistically rich languages that surround us, and to increase inclusivity by promoting multilingualism. In Pakistan in particular, there are multiple local languages, including Urdu, Sindhi, Punjabi, Pushto, Balochi, Saraiki, Hindko, and a lot more. It is up to us to recognize their cultural significance and to value them by making an effort to learn them and including those who speak them in all walks of life.
