Introduction
In pursuance of Notification No. HEC N0.15-54/Coord/2019/HEC/(R&D)/211, Dated: March 11, 2021 of Higher Education Commission, the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization was established at Salim Habib University (SHU) effective from July 01, 2024.
Vision
To promote entrepreneurial culture by transforming the research from classroom/laboratory to market through commercialization.
Mission
To promote a helpful environment for strengthening of knowledge, research, innovation and commercialization process so as to aggrandize the economy of country; to bridge up the gap between industry and academia through effective linkages and MoUs; to promote sense of entrepreneurship among the faculty, staff and students using business incubation and research tools.
Objectives
The objectives of SHU-ORIC are:
- To support the strategic research directions and policies of SHU
- To facilitate the integration of research and education at all levels
- To increase and expand the base for external research funding
- To improve and strengthen the university-industry relationships / linkages
- To promote entrepreneurship, technology-transfer, and commercialization activities for improvement and support the national cause
- To promote multi-disciplinary research initiatives
- To introduce the entrepreneurship concept among all stakeholders of the University
